12/19.99 The Saints lost to the Ravens today; they still look awful, but at least they let a few of the young guys play. Among the few bright spots was William Whitehead, who now has sacks in 5 straight games. Danny Wuerffel continues to look too weak-armed to make it.

12/16/99 Ricky is still out. So are Jared Tomich, Vinson Smith, and Chris Hewitt--they're probably out for the season. Corey Harris and PJ Franklin are going to be activated from the practice squad.

Tom Benson has said he'll make changes at the end of the season, but didn't specify what. It was mostly a PR move-- he wants people to still show up for the last few home games.

12/4/99 Ricky Williams is probably going to miss his second straight game with a turf-toe injury. Without him there isn't much going for the team. Billy Joe Hobert will start at QB in a game that will have a big impact on the early part of the draft order. The loser will probably end up in the top 2 or 3.

11/5/99 After last week's loss Jim Henderson suggested that Tom Benson sell the team. Benson responded with a statement that he has no intention to sell the team. (Interestingly, he didn't say he had no intention of moving the team, so he'll probably still use that as a bargaining chip to get a better lease.) I'd kinda like to see him sell the team to an owner who'd keep the team in town, but I don't want to see them leave N.O.

10/18/99 The Saints lose again; victory was again within the team's grasp, but they lost. The coaching is clearly bad, starting at the top. Ditka has the sidelines a mess, and he flipped off the crowd upon leaving the field. This team has at times dominated and been dominated in each game. They are good enough to win. I think the team is talented, in fact more talented than any of the teams they've faced. I'd go so far as to say that with just about any other coaching staff in the league, we'd be undefeated. I'm not saying this is a great team, but there is so much parity in this league, few are clearly better. They just have no confidence, don't play like a team for more than half the game. The coaches should take care of that, in addition to calling plays, etc.
