National Buffalo Day

March 16

This is now the official day on which we recognize this long under-appreciated contributor to the development of the American West. In addition to providing food, clothing and shelter to Native Americans for thousands of years, the buffalo was the only source of food the crews that built the first railroads and early settlers moving west.

Bring back the Buffalo Nickel!

Our only national tribute is now a part of history. E-mail your state representatives today.
