The Electric Company
The race to the light bulb was about the key to supplying
the electricity for it. The wires, switches, outlets, transmission lines
generators - that's where Edison and his peers knew the money was.
But Edison almost lost it all because of his stubbornness in refusing to
that his original concept of supply direct current power was virtually infeasible.
What made matters worse is the fact there was another method of electric
current that Edison was aware of, but would not consider. Alternating current,
promoted by Nikola Tesla, was finally accepted
and is still what we use today.
