EVENT HORIZON

There was a lot I liked about this movie:

The effects were great, the story was great, the characters were good, and the acting was mostly good too.

The movie is set 50 years in the future, and it's about a rescue team sent to find a ship that had disappeared a few years earlier when attempting hyperspace travel then mysteriously reappeared. I liked this setup alot. It's very reminiscent of Alien, and like that movie it mixes horror with science fiction, but not quite as well.

Laurence Fishburne was OK but kinda disappointed me - he basically reminded me of a rock (or even worse, Keanu Reeves). And Sam Neill has always kind of annoyed me, but the supporting cast was good.

But still I felt there was something missing. I can't say exactly what, but something just wasn't right, which kept this from being a really good movie. As I was walking out of the movie (trying to figure out how to put this feeling into words), and I asked my friend Ralph what he thought, and he basically said the same thing. So I'm not alone.

So I cant really say it's a "complete" movie, but its still good.
